How the shed treats your details
Last updated: 27 October 2026
Here is what The Autumn Weaves learns about you through theautumnweaves.com and what we do with it. We are a small weaving shed in Galashiels, Scottish Borders, and we are responsible for the personal details described here. Write to [email protected] with any question about them.
What the order sheet collects
When you send the order sheet we receive your name, e-mail address, delivery address, the pieces and colourways you chose, your destination and any message you write. We use these to check stock, quote your total, send you the payment link, address your parcel and answer you. We keep order records for six years because tax law asks us to; enquiries that never become an order are deleted after twelve months.
The form is passed to us by a form-forwarding service, formsubmit.co, which receives the contents and e-mails them to our mailbox. It handles the data only to deliver it to us. When you pay, the payment page is run by our payment provider, and we never see or store your full card number. Parcel details go to the carrier only so it can deliver.
Cookies and the consent choice
No cookie is written by these pages. On a first visit you visit, a small panel asks for your consent choice. Whatever you choose, accept all or a setting under manage preferences, is saved as a single entry, named taw_prefs_v2, in your browser's local storage so the panel does not keep coming back. Nothing else reads that entry today. We have installed no analytics, advertising or tracking tools, so even if you accept analytics nothing extra is loaded; if we ever add such a tool, it will run only for visitors who said yes, and this notice will change first. The typefaces load from a public font service, and like any server it can see the IP address that asked for them.
Lines we keep
Names and addresses from our order sheets stay in the shed: they are not sold on, and no other firm is handed them. No newsletter reaches you unless you ask for one, and no visitor profile is built from your visits.
Your rights
If you are in the UK or Europe, data protection law gives you the right to see the details we hold about you, to have them corrected, to have them deleted, to receive them in a portable form, and to object to how we use them. Californian residents may ask us what we keep and have it erased, may opt out of any sale of it, though no sale ever happens here, and will be served exactly as well after asking. Send any such request to [email protected] and we write back within a calendar month. Should you feel we have handled your details badly, you may raise it with the Information Commissioner, the UK regulator for data protection.
Keeping it safe
Order details live in our mailbox and our records, which only the people running the shed can open, behind strong unique sign-in details.
Changes
Whenever our handling of your details shifts, this page is rewritten and its date moved on.
